So You Removed Your Acne Patch. Now What?

Here's what to do after you peel off your pimple patch
In this article:

It’s the same story with any skincare fix - you follow the directions on the package for the actual treatment but then you’re left wondering what you’re supposed to do afterwards. How do you maximize the results without irritating your skin?

Today, we’ve got answers for you.

We know you like using - and removing - Mighty Patch. In the words of one recent Amazon reviewer: “I woke up and a pimple was literally gone and you can see the gross goo on this sticky thing. I was impressed with how it worked so well overnight. It's easy and fun to use.”

After you get over the initial excitement of seeing how Mighty Patch sucks up all the pimple gunk and helps flatten and heal your zits, it’s time to continue your pimple remover routine. Here are five easy post-acne patch steps that will complement your Mighty Patch treatment.

1. Gently cleanse your skin

If you used your Mighty Patch to clear pimples overnight, you probably woke up to a patch full of pimple gunk and a zit that’s drastically smaller. Wash your skin with a gentle, low-pH cleanser and clean away any pus or pimple fluids that might be lurking. If you happen to see excess gunk under the surface of the skin, resist the urge to pop it. We’ll tell you how to take care of that in step 4.

2. Exfoliate

Use a gentle exfoliator (either chemical or physical depending on your skin type), concentrating on the affected area. The exfoliator will slough away dead skin, reduce hyperpigmentation and leave your skin feeling renewed. We recommend that you exfoliate in the morning (or overnight), so that your skin appears dewy fresh all day long.

Rescue Balm has beta glucan, panthenol, and oligopeptides to rapidly soothe post-pimple skin.

3. Hydrate and Moisturize

Next, apply a nourishing moisturizer to hydrate and moisturize the affected area. Since Mighty Patch absorbed all of the pus and fluids from the pimple, you’ll want to replenish some of the lost moisture. Moisturizing will keep the area plump and promote further healing of the pimple.

    4. Apply another Mighty Patch. Why not try Invisible+?

If it feels like there’s some leftover fluid in the pimple or you don’t want to apply makeup and concealer directly to the sensitive area, slap on another Mighty Patch. In case you didn’t hear the news, we just released Mighty Patch Invisible+, an ultra-thin version of our pimple patch with tapered edges. Simply apply the patch, dab a little concealer on top (if desired) and no one will ever know it’s there.
